On Foot
-
it's an easy, level walk up Foregate Street and onto Barbourne Road, past the terraces and the Arboretum, until the park railings appear on your left. About 20 minutes at an amble, and worth every one of them.
-
cross the river on the new Kepax Bridge, it puts you straight onto the park side of the water, a short stroll from our door, and it's a genuinely lovely way to arrive, especially at golden hour.
-
head down through Northwick and onto Barbourne Road, following it south until you reach the park gates. A gentle downhill most of the way.

Gheluvelt Park sits right on National Cycle Route 46, which runs straight through the park between the Waterworks Road and Tower Road entrances. So if you're already on the network, you're basically at the door.
Once you're here, lock up in our covered bike parking in the park, under cover and out of the weather, so your bike (and your saddle) will be dry when you're ready to head off again.
-
Henwick or Hallow side of the city, the new Kepax Bridge is shared-use for cyclists too, and links into the wider riverside loop past Sabrina Bridge and Diglis Bridge if you fancy the scenic route.
-
Cross the river at Sabrina Bridge and pick up the traffic-free path through Pitchcroft (the Racecourse), which carries you along the riverside and up into Northwick and Barbourne, dropping you right by the park. A flat, easy ride and mostly off-road.
-
Follow Claines Lane down onto Barbourne Road, joining NCN 46 as it heads south into the park — a quick, gently downhill run in.
By Bus
-
Hop on any of the First Bus or Diamond Bus services heading out to Barbourne and Droitwich: routes 22, 22A, 144, 153, 303 and S6 all call at Worcester Bus Station before coming straight up to us.
The stop to ask for is Barbourne, opposite Gheluvelt Park on Barbourne Road, right across the road from the park gates, about two minutes' walk from the Pump House.
-
Regular services into Worcester Bus Station run from St John's throughout the day; from there it's a short walk or connecting bus up to us. Or, for a nicer journey, leave the bus behind and walk over the new Kepax Bridge instead
-
You're already on the route: services 22, 22A, 144 and 153 run directly from Claines Crossroads down to the Gheluvelt Park stop, no changes needed.
-
Catch a bus into Worcester Bus Station in the centre (service 32 covers St Peter's), then either enjoy the 20-minute walk up Barbourne Road or hop straight onto a Barbourne-bound service (22, 22A, 144, 153 or 303) from the station.
